Central Michigan University Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship

Central Michigan University (CMU) accepting applications for Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship. Applicants for the 13th annual scholarship must complete an official application; write an essay and cover letter; and provide a letter of reference, samples of journalistic work, and academic transcripts and college-entrance test scores. Scholarship applicants must apply for admission to CMU at https://apply.cmich.edu before applying for the scholarship. Application materials are due Nov. 30. Preference is given to Michigan residents.

The Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship recipient will be honored during a May 14, 2009, gala event at The Atheneum Hotel in Detroit. Past keynote speakers for the Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship and Media Leadership Speaker Series event have included Ed Bradley, Robin Roberts, James Earl Jones and Soledad O'Brien.
